AFSR Classes, Workshops, Memberships

Group adult classes (18+) are taught in French by a native-fluent instructor in an inclusive, interactive setting. The classes emphasize oral and written comprehension and production. Themed classes and workshops hone in on specific linguistic and cultural skills. Textbooks and course materials are either provided by the instructor or can be obtained online or at bookstores (info to be provided for each course).

  • May 2, 9, & 16, 2026 11:00 am – 1:00 pm $120 for 3 Saturdays In-person @ AFSR, 1011 2nd St. #206, Santa Rosa Refine your accent and build confidence in speaking with our in-person French pronunciation workshop led by Valérie. Held on three consecutive Saturdays in May (5/2, 5/9 and 5/16) from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, these focused sessions will help you master sounds, rhythm, and intonation in a supportive, interactive setting. Each week building on the previous one, all three Saturdays constitute the Workshop and attendance is needed for all three. Perfect for learners at any stage, this series offers a chance to tune your ear and elevate your spoken French. Registration opens April 13 alongside our Spring session, reserve your spot early!
  • Galette des Rois at Wilson Winery

    Join us on Saturday, January 24th from 2:00 to 5 PM to celebrate la Galette des Rois at Wilson Winery in Healdsburg (1960 Dry Creek Rd, Healdsburg, CA 95448)! Tickets will include wine, small bites and galette. Bring the kids too! We will have a kid activity table for coloring and decorating crowns. Tickets available soon:

  • Celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau at Notre Vue Estate 2025!

    Join us on Friday, November 21st, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM to celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau at the beautiful Notre Vue Estate, 11010 Estate Lane Windsor, CA 95492. Tickets (per person) include two glasses of wine (one French Beaujolais Nouveau and one "surprise Nouveau" from Notre Vue) and some food. Tickets will go on sale on Monday, November 3rd.   • 2025 Assemblée Générale Dinner at Hook & Ladder Winery

    We invite all Alliance Française of Santa Rosa / Sonoma Wine Country members to our annual all-members meeting, Assemblée Générale! Join all for a welcome reception in the Barrel Room at Hook & Ladder Winery, followed by the meeting and a family-style dinner. Let’s share a toast to the past year and exchange ideas for new events and class themes for the year ahead. Also, members we will elect* our Board of Directors for the next term. Tickets include appetizers, dinner, wine, and beverages. $10 in advance for members and guests, $20 at the door. Children 17 and under are welcome and free. Reserve your seats at the table early.     Jane for Tea at the Bennett Valley Grange Hall

    Join us on Friday, March 7th at the Bennett Valley Grange, the oldest Grange Hall in America, to celebrate the beginning of "le Mois de la Francophonie" (International French Speaking Month) with a very special Jane for Tea Concert! Jane for Tea is a Toulouse-based French duo that delivers pop songs with a multitude of influences from the twenties to the present day.
