Learn French at AFSR

Group Classes

We offer beginning to advanced French language classes that cover speaking, pronunciation, conversation, grammar, listening comprehension, and writing, all within the context of acquiring an appreciation of the French/francophone culture, literature, art, history, and current events.

Emphasis in all of our courses is on communication achieved through active student participation. All classes are conducted in French, giving you maximum exposure to practice the language. Small classes are standard to facilitate communication. All our teachers have native speaker fluency.

One and a half hour class sessions normally run 7-8 weeks. Click the button below to view current classes and enroll online.

Tutoring

The Alliance Française of Santa Rosa offers private, semi-private, group, or family tutoring for adults, teens and children on zoom, at your home, or an agreed upon location.  In addition, we also offer AP (Advanced Placement) French tutoring for high school students. Please view our instructor pages or click the button below to sign up for tutoring.

Tutoring is tailor-made to suit individuals, pairs, or families, and special pricing can be arranged for student groups.

Tutoring lessons range from $60 – $80/hour, and a surcharge of $10/hour is added for travel within a 10-mile radius of the instructor’s home to defray transportation costs for the teacher.

Ateliers

Thanks to our skilled and talented instructors, the Alliance Française of Santa Rosa is proud to offer exciting, hands-on ateliers (workshops) ranging from French cuisine to the study and preparation of botanical infusions and of course, the appreciation of French wine – all conducted en français !

Affinity and Enterprise Groups

AFSR offers specialized classes to affinity groups comprised of young children to adults. We can tailor French language courses to groups of school children, youth groups preparing for a French cultural exchange, or groups of adults who work in the wine industry or are planning to visit France or a French-speaking country.

We would be delighted to listen to what you have in mind, and work with you to propose a curriculum that meets your objectives!
