• Open House and Assemblée Générale

  On October 11, we’ll open the doors to our new home for our Open House & Assemblée Générale, an important moment for our association and its members. We’ll celebrate the past year, share highlights from our growing community, and look ahead to what’s next. Most importantly, current AFSR members will have the opportunity to vote for our Board of Directors for the upcoming term and share their ideas about the future of our Alliance.

• Pétanque at Matanzas Creek Winery

  Join us for our 5th annual Potluck & Pétanque at Matanzas Creek Winery! Bring your favorite picnic dish and enjoy an afternoon of boules, wine, good food, and great company with AFSR members and the francophile community. Pétanque instructors will be on hand to help players of all levels, and we may even have French musicians to add to the festive atmosphere.

• French Gothic Architecture

   Join Charles de Bretteville for a survey of French Gothic architecture from the 12th and 13th centuries, showing the evolution of this quintessentially French building style and its intellectual roots in medieval mysticism.

• Collage Workshop

  November 8, 2026 10:00 am
  Explore the different facets of composing and creating unique works of art using the medium of collage. Join us for a special workshop created for AF members. We will be using famous works of French 19th and 20th Century art as a starting point, leading us to create our own unique work of collage. Gerald Huth will be sharing his vast collection of art papers acquired throughout many years of extensive world travel. The class will be offered in English and French, class size limited to six students to ensure individual attention. Gerald Huth has been a professional artist for more than 30 years, specializing in collage and mixed media works. His art has been exhibited throughout Europe and the US and is in many private collections both here  and abroad. His work can be seen at www.geraldhuthart.com
