speakers to explore and learn more about
the Créole language and culture, and how
it relates to expanding and embracing the
richness of Francophone history.

M. Angelucci Manigat, Jr., Publisher & Editor In Chief
of “The Haitian Voice” (www.haitianvoice.com). M. Manigat’s
presentation is entitled:
"Coup D’œil Historique Sur La
Cohabitation Du Créole Et Du Français En
Haïti".

Mme. Judith Annique
François, published author of several
Haitian-centric books, including
“Les Trois Princesses,” will be speaking about her
experiences of honoring and extending
her roots into sharing the Haitian and

provide us with updates relative to
events and initiatives generated by

English and French, and contain language
distinctions and learnings in Créole

Biographie de Angelucci Manigat,
Jr.
Angelucci Manigat, Jr. est journaliste,
poète, activiste, syndicaliste, éducateur,
entrepreneur, traducteur et interprète. Il
a commencé sa carrière d'écrivain à 19 ans
dans le magazine mensuel Gindol que
dirigeait Émile Célestin-Mégie
(Togiram).
Ses réalisations professionnelles et son
engagement civique sont largement
documentés à travers Associated Press,
Connecticut Post, Stamford Advocate,
Hartford Courant, NBC News Connecticut,
CBS News Connecticut, Channel 12 News,
NPR, Norwich Bulletin, Color Lines et dans
presque tous les journaux haïtiens.
Au milieu des années 1980, il a rejoint
l'iconique hebdomadaire Le Petit Samedi
Soir en tant que rédacteur et a tenu ses
propres chroniques pour deux quotidiens
haïtiens, Le Matin et Panorama. En 2006,
il a fondé le journal Connecticut Haitian
Voice, qui deviendra plus tard The Haitian
Voice. Manigat est également l’auteur de
trois recueils de poèmes intitulés
Fiel-Miel, Mémoire du petit Chien d'à côté
et 20 ans de poésie. En outre, il a publié
dans Connecticut Post.
Manigat est co-fondateur et directeur
général de UNESCO Center for Global
Friendship, Inc., une organisation à but
non lucratif qui développe des programmes
culturels gratuits pour des bibliothèques
américaines et contribue à la création et
au maintien de bibliothèques scolaires et
communautaires en Haïti, à la Jamaïque et
au Nicaragua. Manigat est également membre
du conseil d'administration de Sosyete
Koukouy (une organization engagée dans la
défense et la promotion du créole et de la
culture haïtienne). Manigat a siégé au
conseil d'administration de la
Southwestern Connecticut Agency on Aging
et a coordonné le Festival annuel du livre
haïtien du Connecticut de 2000 à 2019,
sous l’égide de l'Association des
professionnels haïtiano- américains de CT,
Inc. (HAPAC).
Manigat a offert ses services
professionnels à plusieurs organisations
syndicales, notamment Hotel Employees and
Restaurant Employees (HERE) ; AFL-CIO ;
New England Health Care Employees Union,
District 1199, SEIU ; New York State
Nurses Association. Il a aussi
enseigné à University of Connecticut
(UCONN) et pour le compte de Berlitz
Language & Learning Cultural Training
Company.
Il a reçu plusieurs distinctions spéciales
d'organisations et d'institutions dont
National Council of Negro Women, Inc.;
Haitian Research Society, Inc. ;
Congressman Joe Courtney ; la
mairie de New London, CT ; la maire de
Miami, Floride ; Haitian Society for
Research ; Haïti Première

Membre de American Translators Association
(ATA), Manigat parle couramment, entre
autres, l'anglais, le créole, le français
et l'espagnol. Il vit à Connecticut avec
sa famille.
