    Early Intermediate French B1:  Students will improve their language skills through practical dialogues that reflect everyday situations, grammar exercises, and cultural readings. Listening and proper pronunciation are stressed using dictation, videos and situational vocabulary.  This is an ongoing class. Our classes depend upon minimum enrollment.     In-person class. This class is intended for those students who already have a good grasp of the basics and are seeking to improve their listening comprehension and conversational fluency. The short films will either be subtitled or transcribed in French and cover a range of mostly contemporary subjects. In addition to watching at home, class preparation will include comprehension and interpretive questions. Our classes depend upon minimum enrollment to run. (B1+ Level)

    In-person class.  Intermediate-Advanced Conversation B1/B2 allows students to improve conversations skills through discussion of the many aspects of French civilization: history, geography, art and culture, politics, society, and daily life.  The use of news podcasts, and TV series are included. Our classes depend upon minimum enrollment.

  • Winter Session I - January 6 through February 24, 2026
    • Day and Time:  Tuesdays, 1:30 – 3:30 pm
    • Location: In-Person - 1011 2nd Street, Suite #206, Santa Rosa
    • Instructor:  Lisa Broderick
    • Tuition: $320 (8 weeks) / $280 (7 weeks)
    In person class. At the A2/B1 level, students continue to strengthen their skills in French through proper pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar, focusing on a communicative approach to the language. Past and future tenses are stressed along with other finer points of the language. Dialogue and listening activities are central, along with news podcasts, short films and short stories to expand vocabulary, grammar and comprehension.This class will help students learn to enjoy and interact in the French culture, whether it be for travel, work, or personal pursuits.
