Class description: This course allows students to improve speaking, listening and reading skills while exploring news from the French speaking world. Topics will include: politics, economics, history, and culture of France and other French speaking countries. This class is for intermediate to advanced speakers of French. TV5Monde and other websites and videos will be used in this course. (B2/C1 Level)

Join French for Travelers at AFSR and practice essential vocabulary for dining in restaurants, staying in hotels, buying train and museum tickets, shopping the beautiful street markets and more. A little French can go a long way when you follow Nelson Mandela's quote “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his own language, that goes to his heart.” Come have fun with us and swap travel tips and stories with fellow learners.

In-person class! Advanced Beginner to Early Intermediate students are given continued exposure to the language by practicing foundational habits such as listening, proper pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar practices, using dictation, videos and situational vocabulary. (A2/B1 Level) This is an ongoing class.

French for beginning students continue their study of the 4 skills of language by practicing foundational habits such as listening, proper pronunciation, vocabulary, reading and grammar. (A1.4 Level) This is an ongoing class for beginners who are in Part 4 of a 4 Part series of Beginner classes.
