Le Français en Bandes Dessinées students will be immersed into "l´univers de la bande dessinee BD francophone," from Astérix to Yakari, all the way through Tintin; retracing its origins, and reading these childhood and grownup favorites, while discussing the assets and issues related to this art. Part of the sources for this course is the Culturethèque online platform, which is free access for all AFSR members (B2/C1 Level)

French for New Beginners - A1: Traveling to France soon, need French for work or for personal pursuits? Beginning French teaches students to communicate immediately in Everyday Situations by learning the building blocks of the language. Students practice dialogues to introduce themselves, ask questions, make purchases, and enjoy the culture and challenges of everyday life. Use of current practical expressions, correct pronunciation and grammar, and cultural know-how are stressed. (A1 Level)

In-person class! Advanced Beginner to Early Intermediate students are given continued exposure to the language by practicing foundational habits such as listening, proper pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar practices, using dictation, videos and situational vocabulary. (A2/B1 Level) This is an ongoing class.
